After several months of work with Alexander Pilgerstorfer of Austria I am very proud to introduce my new custom clarinet reeds. I will be offering two slightly different versions “Thick” and “Standard”.

The quality of cane that Herr Pilgerstorfer uses is of the highest caliber I have seen in years. This well aged “golden” cane produces reeds that are extremely stable and flexible. Clarinet reeds are available in strengths 2.5 – 5.0 in half strength increments. Fobes reed strengths are roughly comparable to common industry standards.

Thick A traditional French-cut vamp with a thick (3.4mm) Viennese style blank. The result is a very vibrant and robust sound.

Standard Same cut on a 3.00 mm blank. A very traditional cut, this blank runs a bit firmer than Van Doren reeds. Excellent for closer faced mouthpieces.

Shipping

I use First Class mail shipping for all orders which is usually less than $3. In most cases we can process your order within a day or two. Priority Mail to all  locations in the US (except Alaska and Hawaii) is just $5.50 with a delivery confirmation.
